The Naked Truth Day One-Moving Weekend

Chasing our dreams

Two months ago, I decided for my 33rd birthday that I wanted to give myself the gift of fitness and finance. I want my body and my bank account to be healthier and stronger. So, this last weekend, I moved in with roommates, abandoning my Uptown apartment for a simpler, leaner existence. I am excited and terrified by this adventure.

When I started this journey, I didn’t realize how much pain I would experience in this process. I recognize that what I am feeling is a hit on my ego. That I am taking a lateral step in my life to course correct where I am, with where I want to go.  Initially, I worried about the freedom that I was sacrificing when I chose to live with roommates, and what people thought. I am quickly realizing what a smart move this has been. For one, my roommates are amazing and I feel that I am going to learn a lot from them and this experience.

The goals:

Big Chunk of student loans paid off.

Down payment for my very own home.

If you’ve read my other blogs you know that  I have been working on my weight loss journey for quite sometime. With my changes in my living situation. I want to take full advantage of the opportunity to become the fittest I have ever been in my life. This is the year to lose that spare tire and be the lean mean fat burning machine that I know I can be. I have committed to running in a 10-mile race this fall and I have a four legged friend that is willing and ready to be my running buddy.

The Goals:

Lose 8 inches around my waist

Current Status: 44 inches. down 4 inches and 22.5 lbs.

Stay tuned for progress updates and the lessons I am learning along the way.
